In 2018, the Amadeus Singers Children's Choir will rehearse in two groups:
Students in Prep to Year 2 (3)
Students in Year 3 to Year 7
3:45 - 4:45 pm
3:45 - 5:15 pm
Both groups are rehearsing at Townsville Grammar Junior School, 1 Brazier Drive, Annandale.
$160 per semester or
$300 per year
No audition, but the ability to clap a given rhythm and to sing a given pitch are essential.
$240 per semester or
$450 per year
No audition, but basic knowledge of music notation and the ability to sing a given melody are essential.
All Amadeus Singers are encouraged to take part in their school ensembles as well.
Each semester, the Children's Choir (Group 1+ 2 combined) have one major project / concert and at least 2 smaller ones.
Our aim is to give the public audience of Townsville access to beautiful choral music sung by children.
The "Amadeus Singers" are musical students who want to make music beyond the wide range of offers they have at their schools.
Folksongs of the British Isles
(Singers need to have joined the choir no later than 5 March to be eligible to sing in this performance)
When: 28 April 2018, 3pm
Where: Mary MacKillop Church Mundingburra
This concert will feature several choirs of Townsville, each presenting a short program of Folksongs of the British Isles.
(Singers need to have joined the choir no later than 23 April to be eligible to sing in this performance)
When: Sunday, 10 June 2018, 2pm
Where: Museum of Tropical Queensland
The children will present a range of Sea Songs and Sea Shanties in the proximity of the British warship HMS Pandora that was sent out in pursuit of the infamous Bounty mutineers but ship-wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef in 1791.
Ahoy! Sing for the Mary Rose
(Singers need to have joined the choir no later than 14 May to be eligible to sing in this performance)
